Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE)

CoVEs are specialist areas of vocational training which incorporate effective partnerships between colleges, other training providers, businesses, unions and communities.  They aim to produce appropriately qualified and skilled workers with excellent employment and career prospects, which meet the needs of the economy.  CoVEs work closely with business and industry to deliver relavant training of the highest standard.

Derby College together with other local colleges in the area have developed 'EMCON' a Centre of Vocational Excellence in Construction Services, Plumbing, Gas Fitting and Electrical Installation.  Students study at Masons Place - a large specially designed state-of-the-art venue for training the trades people of the future in an industrial environment.
